Off-road use, tyres/wheels, underside and other stated exclusions are not made covered simply by selecting FDW.
What “zero excess” means
Zero excess describes the amount of excess for damage that is actually covered by the FDW option. It should not be interpreted as “every kind of damage is always covered in every circumstance.”
The road-use rules and exclusions remain part of the rental agreement, so the most transparent way to describe FDW is zero excess for covered damage.
Basic CDW is already included
You do not need to add FDW merely to have basic collision damage waiver. Basic CDW is already included in the quoted rental rate. FDW is an optional upgrade for customers who want the excess reduced to zero for covered damage.
The choice can be made with the quote so the total rental cost shows the insurance preference clearly.
Insurance is not the same as a security deposit
The site’s no-deposit policy means no rental security deposit is blocked on a credit card. That does not define the insurance excess. CDW/FDW defines the insurance side of the rental.
Separating those concepts makes it easier to understand why a rental can have no card hold while still having a CDW excess.

Off-road driving, damage to excluded areas, traffic-law violations and failure to follow incident-reporting requirements can affect cover. The safest approach is to read the rental terms and ask before using a route that may fall outside permitted road use.
If an incident occurs, follow the reporting instructions rather than continuing without notifying the rental contact.

The published starting rates help compare vehicle types, but the confirmed total depends on the exact dates, rental duration, vehicle type and transmission, availability, insurance choice, pickup/return locations and any special delivery or one-way logistics.
