This privacy notice covers the public ChaniaRental.com website and direct rental-enquiry form. It does not turn the public quote form into a payment or identity-document portal.
Information you provide in a quote request
The form may collect your full name, email address, optional phone/WhatsApp number, pickup and return locations, dates, times, selected car type, transmission preference, driver-age range, insurance choice and the optional message you choose to send.
Your optional message may include a flight number, accommodation, ferry details, child-seat request, luggage information or another practical detail needed to prepare the quote.
Technical information sent with a quote
When you submit the quote form, limited technical context may accompany the enquiry for security, abuse prevention and source attribution, including the submitting IP address, country/city information supplied by the hosting or CDN environment when available, the page used to send the quote, the first landing page, referrer and campaign/source parameters. The quote handler does not call a separate third-party IP-geolocation service.

Rental enquiry
To check availability, calculate the requested route/options and respond to steps you ask us to take before a rental agreement.
Communication
To reply to your enquiry and coordinate pickup, return, flight, ferry or accommodation details when relevant.
Security
Hosting and server logs may be processed where necessary to protect the website, prevent abuse and investigate technical or security problems.
Analytics — only with consent
Google Analytics 4 is used only after you consent, to understand aggregated website use and improve the quote experience.
Legal bases
- Steps at your request before a contract / performance of a contract: handling a rental quote, availability request and confirmed rental communication.
- Consent: optional Google Analytics measurement. You can refuse or withdraw this without losing access to the website or quote form.
- Legitimate interests: limited technical/security processing needed to keep the website reliable, prevent abuse and defend legal claims, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligations: information may be retained or disclosed when required by applicable tax, accounting, consumer, insurance or other law in connection with a confirmed transaction.
Google Analytics 4
The site uses Google Analytics 4 measurement ID G-3ZP8RPJEPS. Analytics is implemented on a consent-first basis: the external Google Analytics script is not loaded until you accept analytics. Advertising storage, ad-user-data and ad-personalisation consent remain denied because this implementation is for site analytics, not advertising personalisation.
After consent, Google Analytics may set first-party analytics identifiers such as _ga and a property-specific _ga_… cookie and send measurement data to Google. Google may process data on infrastructure outside your country subject to its applicable contractual and transfer safeguards.
You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using . Withdrawing consent stops future analytics loading on subsequent pages and the site attempts to remove Google Analytics cookies for this domain.
Browser storage
We use a small first-party browser-storage item named cr_consent_v2 to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics. It is treated as necessary preference storage because without it the consent question would reappear on every page. The preference is refreshed for up to approximately six months, after which the site asks again.

How long information is kept
Rental enquiries are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, manage a booking or resolve related questions. Information connected with a confirmed rental may need to be retained longer where accounting, tax, insurance, dispute-resolution or other legal requirements apply. Security/server logs are retained according to the hosting and security configuration and are not intended as a customer profile.
Google Analytics data retention is controlled in the connected Google Analytics property and is separate from the consent preference stored in your browser.
Who may receive information
Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the website and communications, such as hosting/email providers, and by Google only for analytics after consent. Data is not published simply because you sent a private quote request.
Information may also be shared where necessary to comply with law, protect legal rights, investigate abuse or complete a service you specifically request.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and to withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Public pages, search engines and AI assistants
Public rental pages are intentionally crawlable by search engines and supported AI search systems. That public content is separate from private quote-form submissions. A rental enquiry is not intended to become public search content.
Policy updates
This notice may be updated when the website, analytics configuration, service providers or legal requirements change. The current version should be reviewed together with the Cookie Policy and Rental Terms.

Does Google Analytics load before I consent?
No. The site uses a consent-first implementation and loads Google Analytics only after you accept analytics.
Can I reject analytics and still request a quote?
Yes. Rejecting optional analytics does not block the website or quote form.

Does the quote form collect card details?
